RN to BSN Nursing Program

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program is for licensed registered nurses who possess an associate degree in nursing (ASN).  

Graduates of the RN to BSN program will be prepared to provide compassionate, patient-centered, culturally competent nursing care to individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations in a variety of settings, using evidence-based knowledge and skills related to wellness, health promotion, illness, disease management, and end-of-life care to improve healthcare outcomes.

They will practice in partnership with patients as members and leaders of interprofessional healthcare teams, utilizing the most current healthcare technologies.

What You Will Learn

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program (RN to BSN) will enable students to provide evidence-based collaborative care to diverse patient populations in varied settings.

The Programmatic Student Learning Outcomes are a culmination of measurable competencies, consistent with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (2008) Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice (2008), which enables graduates to practice within a complex healthcare system.

Admission Requirements

Graduation from an associate degree nursing program (73.5 semester credit hours: 30.0 semester credit hours of general education and 43.5 semester credit hours for RN licensure).

Proof of current, active, and non-restricted professional licensure as a registered nurse in the United States.

RN to BSN Online Hybrid - Bachelor of Science Degree

To receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, students must complete a total of 120.0 semester credit hours. This program is designed for graduates of associate degree programs in nursing who have satisfied the prerequisites of satisfactorily completing 30.0 semester credit hours of general education and 43.5 semester credit hours for RN licensure, totaling 73.5 semester credit hours.  

This degree completion program for registered nurses emphasizes critical thinking, leadership, management, research, physical assessment, and health prevention and promotion across a variety of healthcare settings. The curriculum accentuates cultural, political, economic, and social issues that affect patients and influence healthcare delivery through online and/or face-to-face classroom and clinical components. Students must complete all courses with a grade of “C” or higher to proceed successfully through the program. The program may be completed in approximately 12 months for full-time students.
